Great days out

Ascot is arranging five family days this year so Tim Walder and his family went to the one in July and recommend it as a great day out.

Mottisfont Abbey Garden and House is a beautiful National Trust estate set in rural Hampshire, near Romsey. For the summer the National Trust have teamed up with the House of Fairy Tales to provide a magical and free day out for all the family, writes Georgina Collins.

During their stay at Altomincio, Anne Coates and her family spent a delightful and relaxing day in Peschiera Del Garda which offers stunning views of the lake as well as a bustling walled town.

If you spend a holiday in Tunisia, it is well-worth going on the "Sahara Explorer" excursion, which is a two day trip, including an overnight stay, covering a large and diverse area of the country, as far as the Sahara desert in the south and the border with Algeria in the west.

A glorious spring day made the perfect backdrop for the opening of Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park in Hampshire attended by Alex Bell and her family including a very excited Pippa, just three, resplendent in her birthday Peppa "Pippa" Pig costume.

Elaine Denne and her family attended the press launch of Santa's Magical Kingdom at The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood. Promising to offer families "a truly memorable day out by mixing traditional values with the latest technology", they were excited to see what Santa's Magical Kingdom had to offer and were not disappointed.

Alex Bell and her family made a trip to Bluewater to experience the newly launched Pirate Cove Adventure Park.

Get a taste of Greece and experience some of the delights of a Greek holiday – in the heart of London. Gabriel's Wharf has been transformed into a Greek beach until 27 June.

A sunny Saturday saw Alex and Jon Bell heading to The Hop Farm in Kent for five happy hours of family fun with Toby, five and a half and two year old Pippa. This was their first visit to the Hop Farm World of Activities and  the latest attraction - the Enchanted Kingdom and to enjoy the many activities on site.

Tim Walder and his boys went off to visit a new free museum – Discover Greenwich is South-east London's World Hertiage Site.

Sian Minett and her two daughters are all Abba fans so happily went to experience ABBAWORLD which runs at London's Earls Court until 28 March 2010 and is the only ABBA exhibition to be approved by the members of ABBA.

A relatively new London attraction, opening in August 2008, and replacing Rock Circus at 1 Piccadilly Circus, Ripley's Believe It or Not! has some parallels with the Guiness World of Records attraction at the adjacent Trocadero Centre. Tim Walder and his family went to investigate.
 

Neil Russell's first visit to London Zoo with daughter Olivia proved a tiring but enjoyable experience. Found in the heart of Regents Park, this 36 acre site is home to over 700 species.
 

The miracle of the Bayeux Tapestry is of course that it exists at all, writes Harvey Edgington. Over 900 years old, it has survived many situations from the Napoleonic to the two World Wars and celebrates the conquest of England by William in 1066.

When Harvey Edgington and his family visited Aqualud at Le Touquet during their holiday in France, he noticed surprising similarities with Splashdown in Poole. Wave machines, fun rides, rapids and slides made it a good - if pricey - day out.

Tim Walder and his two sons aged ten and 12 plus two secondary school history teachers visited the special exhibition at the Imperial War Museum about life on the western front in the First World War

The Isle of Wight was voted third best holiday destination in a recent survey. Alex Bell, a life-long fan, was happy to introduce her family to the delights of the island including Blackgang Chine a fantastic attraction for families.

Taking time out from their Keycamp activities, Harvey Edginton's family visited the Airborne Museum Pegasus Bridge in Ranville, Normandy.
