Santa's Kingdon

We were met at the entrance by two of Santa's elves who gave the children a Golden Ticket that was to be stamped at each section of the journey. We then walked along the "snow" covered Christmas tree path to the secret entrance and were then directed to the first attraction – the 4D cinema. We were shown an adorable Christmas cartoon and bombarded with blasts of icy cold air and festive aromas. It was great fun and thoroughly enjoyed by all ages. From there we walked through the beautiful Forest of Lights into Reindeerland – complete with real reindeer including two babies born this year. Then it was off to write a letter to Santa with cheeky elves guiding us along the way. The letters were all posted into a cosy fireplace and then whooshed up the chimney to make their way to Santa's workshop.

Santa's Kingdon 2After that came the craft workshop where the children could make cards and decorations – masses of glitter was compulsory! We were then shown to the dwelling place of Mother Christmas where she read a wonderful story and her elves did some magic tricks. A trip to the Christmas shop followed – the adults were treated to mince pies and mulled wine while listening to the singing Yeti! It was also an opportunity to buy some festive treats.

Then came the grand finale – Santa himself! We were shown to his cosy study where we had to tell him our Christmas wishes and then presents for Jack and Lauren came tumbling down the chimney. The children had their photo taken and you can purchase the picture afterwards. Once outside again, children can have a go on some rides, including a full size Victorian carousel.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Tickets are sold in time slots so numbers are controlled and the elves in each section make sure you move on at a comfortable pace. The whole journey takes two hours but you can stay on afterwards to visit the café and play on the rides and other attractions.

Everything was absolutely beautiful and we would recommend the experience to everyone. It is ideal for younger children but there were two teenage girls in our group who loved every minute of it. If you love Christmas you will adore your time in Santa's Magical Kingdom. It is quite expensive but as a special festive treat I think it's worth it.
