Banwood Eco Scooter

Banwood, the classic outdoor toy brand, has just launched a new Eco collection of scooters and helmets in fresh summer colours at half the price of their classic range.  The new collection features the classic three-wheel Banwood scooter and helmet for children aged three plus, made from 100 per cent post-consumer recycled plastic, repurposed from discarded bottles, bags, cups and fishing nets, sourced through certified waste disposal partners, reflecting Banwood's commitment to sustainability.

The scooter is super easy to assemble – a spring pin under the steering system to click in, allowing the handlebar to be easily detached for easy transport. The T-shaped handlebar has non-slip rubber grips with rounded ends to provide a secure and comfortable hold and you can adjust the height (70 cm, 75 cm, and 80 cm) as your child grows.

Lizzie is two years and two months but already is a seasoned scooter rider having one at home and one with her Scottish grandparents. She was absolutely delighted to see a new one at Mémé's (my name) house. We went straight out into the street for her to have a good ride. She loved it!

She wasn't so enthralled with the CE marked helmet so we're working slowly to get her to wear it. It looks lovely as it matches the scooter colour, has a durable ABS shell with a protective inner foam lining an adjustable chin strap and ventilation at the front top and back – no overheating as Lizzie speeds along.

For me the Banwood Eco Scooter ticks all the boxes regarding sustainability and safety. Scooters encourage outdoor activity and independence. For Lizzie it's just brilliant.
