Lizzie loves "cooking" on her barbecue set so this wooden toddler kitchen play set from Melover made a welcome addition to her repertoire.
We unpacked the box together and she was delighted as soon as she saw what was inside it.
The set comprises 35 kitchen items, including a steak which cuts in half via its Velcro attachment, a fried egg, carrot, tomato, a couple of shrimps, a cabbage, onion, mushroom, oil, pepper and salt pots, as well as cooking utensils (pot, pan, lid) and accessories (forks, spoons, knives, spatula, cotton placemats (or napkins), two plates, two bowls, two cups, a menu that is priced in dollars and a handy bag which doubles as a two cooking rings if placed on a flat surface.
The toddler spent a long time cooking us meals (she used her barbecue kitchen as well) and making us drinks. A great way to encourage cooperative play when more than one child is at home, role play games and talking about food and how it grows and so on.
The wooden set is really well made and feels good to handle with no sharp edges. The box it comes in is eco friendly and I highly recommend as a present for young children as a toy which can be used in so many contexts.
