Tixylix products recall

publication date: Dec 13, 2013

Novartis Consumer Health UK LTD (NCH) announced today that it is recalling certain batches of Tixylix®, paediatric liquid cough and cold medicines, because of a potential manufacturing defect with the tamper seal that could result in small pieces of plastic being found in the bottles.

Whilst no pieces of plastic have been found in Tixylix® medicines and the potential occurrence of this defect is very low, as a precaution, we are recalling the batches from consumers, retail customers and wholesalers in the UK.

Consumers are asked to return these products to the place of purchase for a refund. The health and safety of our consumers is always our highest priority.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

For batch numbers being recalled visit Tixylix If you have any concerns or need further information about batch numbers (found on the bottle label next to the expiry date) or how to return the products and receive a full refund, please contact the consumer enquiries team by calling 0800 854 100
