Right from the get go I was impressed with how stylish the Urban Iki rear frame mount child’s bike seat is. It arrived in a very compact and beautifully decorated box and on opening it everything was clearly set out to make it easy to put together. The instructions booklet is pretty weighty but you can quickly navigate the English instructions and where to start.

There is a rear frame mount and front bar option and they come in numerous pastel colours. The seat also includes nice silver details on the buckles and labels making it a lot more stylish than some of its main competitors, although it is slightly heavier. I tried out the pastel blue rear frame mounted seat which is recommended for nine months to four years, suitable for children weighing nine to 22kg.

Within 20 mins I had the seat all set and ready to go. Be sure to check your bikes compatability though as the front mounted option wasn’t suitable for my specialised bike. My two and a half-year-old toddler is medium-sized for his age and fits comfortably in the seat. It also has adjustable foot rests and straps to suit different leg lengths as an added bonus!

It does take a while to get used to having a toddler weight on your bike but I quickly got the hang of it and we were in the park in record time. It’s also relatively easy to switch it between bikes adding further convenience to using it as a family.

My final point is the cost. It’s very good value for money and the wipe clean seat can even stand the test of most toddler snacks.
