Protecting mattresses is important for all sorts of reasons not least the fact that they can become harbingers of germs and a breeding ground for dust mites and allergens which can be a health hazard.
Even before your child is going to be without a nappy on, a mattress protector is essential for those occasions when a nappy leaks, or a child is sick etc. We tried out the B–Sensible fitted sheet which is both a sheet and mattress protector so fulfills two roles. During this time there were no accidents so, in the interests of proper testing, I poured some water on the sheet. Experiment a total success!
B-Sensible fitted sheets are made from natural fibres, are machine washable and can be tumble-dried. I was really impressed with the laundry aspect as the mattress protector I have on my bed seems to absorb water when washed, takes ages to dry and cannot be tumble-dried. As you washing the sheet (and not a mattress protector as well) the B-Sensible fitted sheets are cost effective.
The B-Sensible fitted sheets come in a range of colours. We were sent the pale pink which I"m not keen on but there are some fabulous deep colours if that's what you like. They also come in a range of sizes from crib (£17.50) to cotbed (£23.50) and singles (£29) to king size (£50).
