Recently having attended an interesting talk by leading nutritionist, Dr Marilyn Glenville, on the importance of how to detox healthily and still lead a busy life, I was keen to have a look at her book The Natural Health Bible for Women. This is a natural health reference book, which enables women of all ages to look after their health and take the best possible care of themselves. All the remedies, therapies, exercises and nutritional needs discussed are natural and offer solutions for every stage of a woman’s life to overcome health problems, ailments and generally keep well and strong. A wide range of women’s health issues from thyroid and hormonal imbalances to post menopausal issues, such as osteoporosis and memory loss and poor concentration are included.
I like the clear style in which the book is presented. It is divided into three main sections:
It is a very easy to read book with sufficient clear and informative pictures, which liven up the text and make it more interesting to browse through and read. Different sections within the chapters are relatively short and paragraphs are clearly headed, so that one knows exactly what one is reading.
It is the sort of book that one dips into at leisure or if a particular piece of information is required about a specific ailment or condition. The layout of the book makes this very easy for the reader, as the contents pages are clearly set out and the index is very comprehensive. There is a clear glossary as well, which details the medical and specific terms used in the book.
I would thoroughly recommend this Natural Health Bible as a useful and informative guide to have around the house, as some sections would be relevant and of interest to younger teenage girls from 14 and 15 years upwards, as well as other women of all ages.
