On holiday, plagued by mosquito bites which I react badly to, I go into the sea and allow the healing powers of sea water do its job. It invariable reduces the irritation and inflammation. In fact thalassotherapy  (healing with sea water) now extremely popular in health clubs and spas.

So I was delighted to be able try out the SolRox Massage & Healing Therapy Stone. According to the box, sea water is "a near perfect match for the body's saline composition and can naturally replace depleted minerals and aid the removal of toxins" improving both circulation and health.

Well, after a day working at the computer my neck is often stiff and aches. I heated the crystal in the microwave for 20 seconds and then applied it to my neck and shoulders. Within minutes the tension began to relax.

A recent accident left my had very swollen and sore. I popped the crystal into the freezer (as directed for bruising and inflammation) and, cupped in my hand, it helped bring down the swelling.

The crystal is, apparently, the equivalent of 100 litres of sea water! I can't vouch for that but anything that is completely natural reduces pain without side-effects is ok by me. Of course it also means that it is safe to use on children. Giving a child something physical to focus on, rather than the injury, helps diminish their upset and pain more quickly.

SolRox Massage & Healing Therapy Stone costs £7.95 and is available from www.aromair.co.uk
