With all the recent snow and cold weather it's hard to imagine that spring will ever arrive but it will and we often have good weather in February so it’s the
perfect opportunity to fulfill your
new year resolution to get fit and start
walking!
The
Breast Cancer Campaign urges you to
walk a step for every person that will be
diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK this year – that’s
46,000 steps – while raising money for
research into this disease.
Do this on
your own, with friends, colleagues or even walking the dog. Simply ask your
friends and family to sponsor you on your
walking challenge and help
Breast Cancer Campaign take a step closer to beating breast cancer.
Loose Women presenter
Lisa Maxwell is an ambassador for
STEP ON IT, she said: “I’m very proud to support
Breast Cancer Campaign’s STEP ON IT initiative to support the many thousands of people affected by this disease in the UK each year. It’s a
simple challenge for everyone who wants to
raise money for breast cancer research without having to
run a marathon or climb a mountain! So please join me and
STEP ON IT while getting fit along the way.”
46,000 steps is approximately
23 miles. Ask people to
sponsor you for an amount
£1 per 1000 steps and then hope they'll be generous!
We are hoping to get lots of the
Parenting Without Tears team involved and we'll let you know
how much we raise. There's
no time limit so you can pace yourself.
Sign up today and
Breast Cancer Campaign will send you a free
pedometer, hints and tips on how to count your steps and
sponsorship forms.
