Mat – and first was kicking and grabbing at the arch, then reaching for the dangly soft toys, then scrunching at the very scrunchy ear of the elephant she was lying on . . . For a smallish mat, there’s a lot of exploring to do and lots for small fingers and toes to discover. It’s a good size for a travel mat and has, in fact, become the playmat she uses every day at home, though her current obsession with rolling (she’s now four months old) means that she keeps ending up on the carpet – but I don’t think there’s a playmat big enough to contend with this issue, I just need to vacuum!
The Tippitoes Travel Activity Mat zips up neatly and can easily be slung in the car for visits and holidays, and is brilliantly machine washable. The only enhancement I can think of would be a mirror – but you can’t have everything.
I’d definitely recommend this, especially if, like us, you’re short of space and want something you can instantly fold up and shove behind the sofa to create the illusion that your baby hasn’t entirely taken over your world once she’s in bed . . .
