National Museums Liverpool has an action-packed diary of events to keep everyone busy this half-term from celebrating Chinese New Year, on 19 February, when visitors of all ages can come along to a number of our venues including the Lady Lever Art Gallery and Museum of Liverpool to take part in activities such as Chinese dragon crafts and lantern-making.
The Merseyside Maritime Museum will also be holding demonstrations of Chinese Martial Arts on 19 February along with a Dragons and Jazzy Junk activity, where you can create your own dancing dragon or jazzy junk to take home.
Other activities throughout half-term include the Shiver Me Timbers performance at Merseyside Maritime Museum, where you can hear about a pirate’s swashbuckling life at sea. Young visitors won’t want to be late for a very important date as the Walker Art Gallery throws a Hatters Tea Party on 16,17 and 18 February, so come along and take part in tea-time crafts and listen to terrific tales.
The International Slavery Museum is also putting on a free showing of the Disney film The Princess and the Frog, followed by an afternoon full of crafts and a face painter on our Disney Day, 19 February.
At IWM London Print it: Truth and Memory Roll up your sleeves over Half Term and join the free family printing activity. Have a go at drawing your favourite artworks on display in major exhibition Truth and Memory: British Art of the First World War and then transfer your design into a print you can keep.

Don your duffle coat and grab your ditty box to discover what life was like on the high seas, in a week of family activities this half-term at IWM North. From submarines to sea mines, explore the past 100 years at sea through storytelling, craft activities and objects on display.
Families are invited to get creative in daily craft sessions to leave a Message in a Bottle or make a Scratch Art Sea Horizon while peering through their telescopes. Younger visitors can take part in interactive story telling sessions and learn about the strange and surprising animals that have sailed the seas, including Olga the reindeer and Tirpitz the pig.
Don’t miss What A Performance: Stories From the Shipyards, live theatrical performances bringing to life the stories of two women who made by their wartime contribution by working in the shipyards of the First and Second World Wars (Saturday 14 and Monday 16 February).
Code Playground gives customers and non-customers of Barclays Bank the opportunity to learn about coding online or in branch with the help of a Barclays Digital Eagle. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to participate in order to bridge the divide between the generations digital know-how.
Sessions are free and open to children aged seven to 17. Children attending will need to bring a laptop and be accompanied by an adult. Session are available on a first come, first served basis at selected branches throughout the UK including Loughborough, Birmingham, Chichester Nottingham, Kent, Liverpool and Bath and can be booked online.
On Saturday 21 February 2015, Novotel Hotels are inviting parents and their little super heroes to enjoy a free, family fun day out at any of their 33 Novotel hotels in the UK. There is a whole host of activities available for children aged five to 11 years old from creating tasty treats to learning how to save the planet. There are two sessions available at 1pm to 2pm and 4pm to 5pm. Places are limited so make sure you book.
