Alex Bell shares Toby's comments:
Toby doesn't seem to feel the cold or at least he doesn't complain but his toes are frequently icy. To sneakily bolster his underfoot insulation, we've fitted his crocodile wellies with a pair of Kiwi Kids Warm Insoles. These sheepskin liners are backed with springy foam. Simply cut them to shape with a pair of regular scissors using the sizing template provided and pop them into the footwear of your choice. Instant cosiness, with minimum fuss for that warm slipper effect or in Toby's words "they make them (the wellies) more comfier [sic]!"
Louise Pollard wasn't impressed:
My daughter found these to be very soft inside her shoe, but after a few minutes began to feel that the shoe was too tight for her. This did not surprise me, as I had always believed that insoles were to adjust the shoe size slightly. I therefore cannot see the benefit of these Kiwi Kids Warm Insoles unless maybe used with Wellington boots. I am sure a pair of woolly socks would work just as well though!
Sue O'Neill had a better experience:
We tried these Kiwi Kids Warm Insoles out on a trip to the zoo on a chilly January day. They were easy to trim down, and my son said his feet felt "toasty". I want some grown-up size ones for me!
Sian Minett adds a tip:
The Kiwi Kids Warm Insoles are ideal for keeping little feet warm in the winter months. Each pack comes with a template making it really easy to trim the insoles to the correct shoe size. With a pure wool top and latex under layer, they provide extra comfort as well as warmth. The insoles made an appreciable difference and were a welcome addition to my children’s school shoes during the cold snap.
The only down side is that as the insoles are so thick they can make close fitting shoes too tight, so it would be well worth taking along a pair of insoles when buying your child’s winter shoes to ensure a perfect fit.
Kiwi Kids Warm Insoles (£2.99) are available nationwide at Tesco.
