Making faces

Making Faces! by Jacky Bahout and Mamoko Kudo is a very original and creative book for children of four to six-years-old. It is made up of thirty pull-out heavy-duty paper sheets; each of which has a different A4+ sized design for children to colour or decorated in many ways. It even has suggestions on what to add to the designs within the drawings.

What’s different, though, is that each has a round cut-out for the child's face to look through and then have their photo taken, surrounded by their own artwork.

Making FacesThey can also make the pages into masks.

Suggestions on how to use the book are all clearly set out inside the front cover. The varied designs, such as animals, fish, insects, an astronaut, and a snowman, for example, are all drawn in a quirky cartoon style with subdued colours, which means that the children can add their own bright highlights using pencils, crayons, paint or collage.

The designs will appeal to both boys and girls as there is such a broad range of subjects to choose from. Our six-year-old grandson chose the Superhero as his favourite.

Making Faces! by Jacky Bahout and Mamoko Kudo will provide many hours of fun and a chance to capture some great photos of the children in their very our art creations. Would make a greatly appreciated birthday or Christmas present and, at £9.99, it is very good value for money.
