According to the cover copy of
Tax without Tears, no matter what your
business, you need to set up and maintain a
system of records which will:
- Keep track of financial accounts
- Provide the necessary figures for tax and VAT returns
- Create a routine allowing more time for the actual business
- Give peace of mind knowing that all accounting functions are in place
And as someone who has been
self-employed for nearly 25 years I totally agree.
Tax without Tears is very basic but
clear and simple to understand. A
chartered accountant for many years,
Robert Sherwood has worked in the
self-employed sector since 1993 and gives clear and
concise advice on everything you need so know when setting up a
business from your
Business Plan to VAT returns.
The book is very
short (100 pages) with large type and lots of
white spaces and pages for your own notes, but the outlay of £5 could be a real
investment,
if it saves you paying out for an
accountant!
