Here’s a summer
holiday project that won’t
cost you a thing (except the paper you print on!).
Findtree will
encourage children to
research their
family tree by talking to
aunts, uncles, grandparents and other family members to
discover more about
where they come from and
who they are.
This is a
great activity to take with you if children are
staying with relatives during the holidays. Perhaps they’ll even get the
chance to rummage through boxes or albums of
old photographs.
Go to
findtree.co.uk and click on the child picture icon for
downloadable forms that guide the child on
who to talk to and
what to ask, from
where were you born to the type of
jobs they had and the
hobbies they
enjoyed.
Another
bonus for children is
finding out what
Mum and
Dad were like as children and what
they got up to!
Of course there’s
scope for children to
pose their
own questions as well and it’s something the
whole family can get
involved with.
