At first sight the
Revo looks rather like a large,
updated Rubik’s cube but there the
similarity ends. The Revo is an
electronic game with a difference,
designed to stimulate children’s
reactions and
memory. It requires
fast reactions, visual acuity, recognising and following
patterns and response to
audible commands plus you have to be
nifty with your
fingers too!
The
Revo has nine coloured
squares on each side, one of which
conceals a colour-coded
flashing light, which at every
move, the player has to
extinguish . A voice
prompts the player through the
games.
There are
six games to play:
- Blue – Light Speed
- Yellow – Rapid Recharge
- Green – Pattern Panic
- Silver – Cube Catcher
- Red – Multiplayer Madness
- Orange – Code Cracker
Six year-old Iona really
enjoyed playing with it,
especially as it had six games.
Silver was her
favourite – it was a game
against time and was really good
fun. Iona thought it a real “
brain booster”!
Adam, aged eight, thought it was "
really cool. One of the really
good games was
green where you have to
discover the pattern. The
intructions were ok but you could
work it out without them. No one liked the
six player game.
At ten,
Aaron didn’t really
like it, found it too
noisy and “you couldn’t hear the words”.
Katherine (mum)comments: "The
Revo kept them all
entertained for a week or two but didn’t
compete against the
Gameboy. A good
holiday toy. The
noise was a bit
irritating after a while."
