BingoSaurusWhen you combine a fun game like bingo with dinosaurs you have a winning combination: BingoSaurus is just that in colourful, well-designed package.

It consists of a game board, eight game cards, 48 dinosaur chips, 128 round counters and an instruction and identification booklet. All fit into a sturdy box, just 21cm square and 6cm high, easily stored or transported.

Up to eight players came play a bingo type game, that has pictures of dinosaurs instead of numbers; the caller draws one of the dinosaur chips and shows them to the players who use their round counters to cover their cards. When the first player gets all the 16 squares covered they can shout "BingoSaurus!” to win.

They can also play with just one line of four to win too. What is different about this game, though, is that older children, say seven upwards, can play a more difficult version of the game. Inside the instruction booklet are illustrations of 40 different dinosaurs with a pronunciation guide to their name together with a short description and a list of clues about each of them.

The caller can therefore read out just the clues and players can guess the dinosaur and cover their cards accordingly. Our six-year-old grandson really enjoyed playing the simple version of the game several times and had a lot of fun with it. He loves dinosaurs and the beautiful illustrations of them made it a joy for him.

Older children will certainly enjoy playing the game with friends and family; the booklet, alone, is actually a very good, simple factual guide to 40 different dinosaurs.

Overall, this is a durable family game that will pass the test of time; it is manufactured to an excellent standard of illustration, graphics and packaging and would make an ideal Christmas or birthday present. Well thought out and good value for money.
