The safety features of the SHR II are plentiful and the product feels sturdy. The outer casing is robust and the seatbelt system within the seat is easily adjusted. The seat can be fitted in the car with an isofix base (which I chose to use) or with a seatbelt fastening, which I have used when travelling with my parents.
I found the SHR II car seat very easy to use alongside the travel system. My son is comfortable within the seat, the adjustable headrest provides flexibility to ensure he is seated well, upright and well cushioned. The car seat is as light as any others that I looked at and an easy-fit rain cover can be purchased separately. I use the seat often as part of the travel system and would highly recommend it for this.
However, I have found the car seat is not so easy to release from the isofix base within the car. The button which so easily enables you to attach and detach the seat from the stroller base is redundant with regards to the isofix base and the release button on the base to enable you to lift the seat out of the car is stiff and clumsy.
The Britax BabySafe Plus SHR II competes well with its counterparts on the market and has been a fantastic addition to my Britax Smile Travel System (I am now more likely to go for a walk with my son in the car seat on the system than the cot). Just be aware that it can be frustrating to release the seat from the compatible isofix base.
