Jousting at Arundel CastleArundel Castle is set to give all budding knights of the realm the opportunity to meet with expert jousters from across Europe, as part of its Medieval Joust and Tournament week, 23 to 28 July. 
 
Perhaps you have sometimes fancied yourself as a knight or dreamed of wearing armour and chasing away opponents on your trusty steed. If that is the case, then the Medieval Joust and Tournament is a must see event; offering spectators the chance to not only witness incredible competitive displays by professional jousters, but also to interact with these highly skilled knights
Fancy yourself as a knight’s lady instead?  The knights are competing for your honour and enjoyment.  As a lady, it is your job to judge the chivalry, sportsmanship and horsemanship of the knights. The knights are counting on the ladies to watch closely and judge fairly.
 
Not a knight or a lady, but perhaps you aspire to be another Medieval character - that doesn’t mean that Arundel Castle’s Medieval Joust and Tournament week is off the cards. From the unique Distant Trumpets storyteller sharing tales from the 1400s, to participatory craft, demonstrations, and the chance to try your hand at archery, the event offers enjoyment for the whole family. The vast 15th century encampment, which is the setting for the week’s events, is a constant hive of activity, offering historical activities to keep visitors entertained.
