The launch of
Sky Go at the
Soho Hotel in London turned out to be a fantastic end to the
school holidays. Not only did Frida have her
face painted, nails done (me too I should add) , take part in a
craft demonstration by Looby Lou and meet Mickey Mouse she also got the opportunity to play with an
iPad – I am sure you can imagine the
joy of a five year old granted access to an
iPad whilst lounging on a sofa, choosing which
television programmes she would like to watch.
Sky Go offers the choice of
live content from eight
children’s channels, including
Cartoon Network, Disney Channel and
Nickelodeon. This service is available to
Sky TV customers at no extra cost with the
Entertainment Extra pack. There are also
Sky sports and news channels amongst others that can be accessed.
I can see how
Sky Go would be useful to parents who might need something
portable to
entertain a child whilst
travelling; stuck at an airport or
hospital, or when the weather outside is miserable. The
only problem I can envisage is having my iPad taken over by Frida!
Whilst at this event there was a table set up by
Looby Lou Designs. Frida and I got a chance to make the
Spring Fairy Canvas. This was such a
lovely activity, and we both enjoyed it.
Looby Lou has put together
Canvas Kits (suitable for 5+) and contains
everything needed to make the
magical fairy picture. It comes within a bright yellow bag which too can be embellished.
The
kit contained
beautiful fabrics; skeleton leaves,
hand dyed silk ribbon, special sparkles and
flowers, a spot of glue and
magic fairy dust. Other
Canvas Kit themes were a Pirate one; Dinosaur and other fairies.
I will
definitely order some kits to use as
gifts.
