Davina: Super Body Workout starts with an introduction, which outlines the content, which personally I would only view once, especially as there is a limit to the number of times I can watch Davina trying out a Royal Naval assault course! The relevance of this, however, is simply to emphasise that exercise, no matter what form it takes, should be fun, enjoyed and give one a sense of achievement.
The most important part of the introduction for me was the reminder that stomach muscles should be engaged to support the back. The back should be kept straight and one should not crunch down or lean over.
The workout sections of the DVD are divided into two parts, each one of which is led by one of Davina’s personal trainers.
The importance of the warm up and cool down for each group of routines is stressed, so as to prevent injury.
There are also some extra features on Davina: Super Body Workout involving longer options with added sections to the basic routines, such as those concentrating on the upper body, legs and abdomen.
When reviewing this DVD I started with the exercises in the Super Fit section. Shamefully I have to admit that I did give up rather quickly, because I am rather unfit and was actually beginning to feel a little worn out.
However I do intend to have another attempt at the workouts, as I feel if they are worked through slowly and at one's own pace, they would be beneficial.
In spite of some of Davina’s unnecessary comments, I liked the clear and concise explanations given by the trainers and also the choice of less intense forms of some of the individual exercises, if thought to be more appropriate.
