To create the
perfect ballerina bun:
1. Start with
slightly damp hair as this will make it
easier for you
to keep your
hair close to your head. Alternatively
comb through a little
mousse like my
Leo Bancroft Perfectly
Volumised Mousse to add some
extra hold.
2. Scrape the hair back into a
high ponytail and secure with a hair
band. Make sure the band is
secured tightly in order to prevent it from falling
out. The
bun is
usually held between the
crown and the
middle of the back of the head which creates
a
clean, elegant look. The
higher you position it the more of a
statement you
will be making.
3. The next step can be altered depending on the style you wish to achieve.
Split
the ponytail in two and
plait each one individually trying to keep the
hair as
tight into the
plait as possible.
4. Take these two
plaits and then
twist them
around the hair band as tight as you can until you achieve a
bun shape. Secure
in place with
bobby pins and give it a spray of my
Leo Bancroft Secretly Styled firm hold hairspray.
Alternatively you
can simply
twist each
ponytail and again, wrap the twists around the elastic,
secure with pins and
spray with hairspray.
