Queen Sized is about a girl named Maggie (played by Nikki Blonsky) who is bullied because she is overweight. She is quite sensitive about her weight as her father died due to diabetes. Maggie has tried to lose weight, however every time her hunger gets the better of her. Despite this she desperately wants to fit in, as all her life she has been tormented because of her weight.
With the end of high school looming and the stress of applying for college, she decides that she must do something now, so she can remember her time at high school as a happy experience.
Some bullies play a malicious trick on Maggie. To everyone else this seems incredibly cruel but little do the bullies know that their trick will be the thing that changes Maggie’s opinion about high school, and will leave her feeling positive about her start at college.
Queen Sized is a very easy film to watch and to understand. With a basic storyline and ideas, it is great for anyone who enjoys undemanding films.
However, I did not like Queen Sized. It was a very boring film with a rather silly storyline. It was not very original as I have seen plenty of other films with a similar plot. Although it was a relatively short film, it still left me feeling as though I had wasted my time. This film is targeted at teenage girls, and contains some light comedy which may interest other age groups.
