The large scale folding map is accompanied by sheets of 200 stickers, featuring landmark structures, iconic buildings, museums and more, together with red buses, taxis, phone booths and a scattering of assorted Londoners to stick wherever you please.
I lay the map out on a table top and set to work with Toby, seven, and Pippa, four. School projects and an architecturally-minded family means that Toby is well-versed in the name and shape of many major London buildings.
The simplified map is annotated with the locations and his job was to install everything in the right spot. Toby was especially pleased to be able to locate some of his favourite places and I appreciated the odd nod to contemporary architecture like the Shard and Lloyds of London.
Pippa was delegated to re-foresting the city's green spaces with the sheet of trees and shrubs.
High quality stickers and paper, attractive illustrations, clear layouts and plenty of educational fun make Guy Fox's Create Your Own London Map a real winner. Every child should have one.
