- Many Blu-ray discs now come bundled with a digital copy, which means you can watch the film or TV series you’ve bought on the go and on different devices – look for the "Digital HD", "Triple Play" or "Ultraviolet" logo. Great for keeping the kids entertained with their favourite film or show in the car on long journeys.
- You could have a Blu-ray player and not even realise it. Did you know that PlayStation 3 and 4 and Xbox One games consoles all play Blu-ray discs, and that you can play DVDs in Blu-ray players? Blu-ray discs are essentially high definition (HD) DVDs, which means they deliver the very best in audio and video quality. What’s more, many Blu-ray discs now come with a digital copy which means you can keep the disc at home and use the digital copy for when you’re on the move – perfect!
- Downloading means the video file is saved on your device, so while you need an internet connection to download, you can then access the file offline later which is perfect for travel and keeping the kids entertained on the move.
- Streaming means you’re watching a film or TV show that is being streamed from another location over the internet, so although you do need an internet connection you don’t need to download the file in order to view it.
- Some digital services offer 30-day free trials with no commitment, so you can try before you buy, whilst others allow you to share accounts as a family, meaning access to more choice. Remember that you’ll need an internet connection to stream or download.
