Sunbuster Blackout Blinds - closedI have been really impressed with the Sunbuster Blackout Blinds – they have certainly done what they state on the tin! The blinds are made-to-measure and there are excellent guides on the Sunbuster website on how and where to measure to and from.

Before fitting the blinds you are advised to clean your windows (not one of my most loved jobs) and iron the blinds first as most have crease marks from folding. I did so and it did smooth them out and ensured they hung much better. There is an easy to follow step-by-step instruction sheet with pictures to help too.

To put up the blinds all one has to do is remove the protective film from the gel strip and stick it onto the window. The measurements were spot on and the brilliant thing about these blinds is that if you make a mistake when sticking up the blinds you can just peel them off and start again. After applying firm pressure attach the Velcro squares at the bottom of the blind and voila!

Sunbuster Blackout Blinds - openDuring the day to let light and air into the room simply pull on the tabs at the bottom of the blind and place the bottom magnetic strip onto the top. This method is very easy and perfect for those curious little ones who might have liked to play with blind chords!

The pack also includes spare Velcro patches to ensure the blind is held firmly to the window and prevents even the smallest smidgen of light entering the room. I found the easiest way was to attach both the Velcro patches together and stick one side to the blind then press firmly onto the window (rather than my slightly problematic first attempt, where with one stuck to the window and the other the blind I then had to try and match the two up! Fortunately they peel off the window pane relatively easily).

Harriet now goes to sleep happily and quickly, even on the brightest of summer evenings – and even sleeps in a bit longer in the morning too which is always a bonus! The blinds are also proven to insulate your windows better during the winter; reducing the heating bill is always a plus point. The blinds come in pink, blue or white with red edging.

I would recommend the Sunbuster Blackout Blinds to anyone with children who find light distracting and difficult at bedtime – or  adults who may suffer the same fate (I may purchase another blind for my room)!

Prices start at £39.99 with the average price per windwo being £44.99.
