The Soul Patrol is the story of a girl called Caitlin whose best friend, Kelsey, and her mother have just died in a car crash. Devastated by their loss, Caitlin and her sister, Nicole set up the Soul Patrol to try to ensure that their loved ones remain safe from harm. Caitlin sees Kelsey’s ghost and, having spoken with her, believes that something is wrong so she confides in her friend Craig. Craig has a gypsy aunt who succeeds in contacting Kelsey’s troubled spirit and, in doing so, triggers a series of surprising and bizarre events that culminate in an unexpected and shocking ending.
I liked The Soul Patrol because it has an intriguing and original storyline with interesting characters. The characters were well thought out and I could easily empathise with them.
I would give The Soul Patrol four stars (top rating!) and would recommend it for girls between the ages of about eight and 12 years.
