The Puppy Years is the prequel to the hit film
Marley & Me starring
Owen Wilson and
Jennifer Anniston and introduces
Marley as an adorable "talking" puppy (exactly like the Disney
Buddies films). Marley and his
dog-sitter, Bodi, spend the summer
causing havoc at Bodi's grandfather's house.
Bodi has always wanted a
dog of his own, and so to prove to his mother that he is
responsible enough to look after his
own pet, he decides to enter
Marley and two other
puppies from the neighbourhood into the
Ultimate Puppy Championship, as a team known as the
Ragga Rascals.
Following weeks of
training (and plenty of mayhem) the
Ragga Rascals face fierce competition from other
dog teams (the main one being a group of miniature Dobermans known as
Wolf Gang) and the film has a
heartwarming ending that everyone will love.
I would say
Marley & Me: The Puppy Years is primarily for children, but it is one the
whole family will enjoy. If you are a fan of the
Buddies films (
Snow Buddies, Space Buddies, Spooky Buddies etc) you will
love it. It is full of
fun and
jokes that are suitable for all the
family.
It would make a lovely
Christmas gift and would thoroughly
recommend it and I feel it is a film my
children will want to
watch again and again.
