As a busy working mum I am always looking for ways to make life simpler to ensure maximum time can be spent as a family.
Washing is a constant bone of contention in this area. It is relentless (something you do not realise until you have children) and you feel like a constant slave to the washing machine, and apparently also the only one who remembers how to use it!
Thus it is always good to try alternatives, especially if they collection from and drop back to your house.
Zip Jet have teamed up with Persil, offering a 48 hour turn around on their laundry service for £15 per 8kg wash load. You can book online or via the app, choose a collection date and time and a return date and time (for a speedier service it is more expensive).
They do cover a wide range of postcodes, however mine did have to be added to review it so maybe they need to expand wider. This is why I experienced an issue with timing for collection and return - only being offered one slot for each. However times can be booked outside of the working day to ensure people are at home for those who work.
Ironing is another bane of my life. There is just a constant pile of ironing in the corner of the bedroom that everyone ignores until my other half runs out of shirts or there is suddenly no school uniform!
There is an extra cost for the ironing service, which in my opinion makes the whole thing a bit pricy, however for the sake of my sanity I might one day have to indulge. They also provide a dry cleaning service too.
The laundry service came in between the two hour slot both on collection and return and the staff were friendly and polite, providing bags for the collection and these can be kept for the next use when returned.
I think the clothes could have been folded slightly better to prevent creasing (and avoid ironing yet more things!) but overall it was a good service.
ZipJet is running this pilot partnership with Persil (Unilever) until October 2016.
