Born to be Wild tells the story of two women who have dedicated their lives to
rescuing orphaned
orang-utans and
elephants and then
returning them into the
wild. Shot in
3D, especially for the
Imax, we travel back and forth from
Borneo to
Kenya experiencing vivid
big screen scenery and
heart-warming stories, watching their lives and enjoying their
triumphs.
The
film is peppered with funny and
poignant moments that filled the audience with
laughter and smiles. It is a wholly
positive movie which children of all ages could enjoy, and at
40 minutes in length it doesn’t outstay its welcome. The stories mirror each other, we see young
orphaned elephants and
orang-utans rescued and taken into care, their considered and
humane treatment and their eventual
return to the wild.
There is a strong message of
conservation and
respect throughout
Born to be Wild, and the love and
extraordinary effort they all maintain shines through. We were left with
smiles on our faces and
happy hearts.
Born to be Wild opens at
BFI IMAX on 17 June and
Science Museum IMAX on 2 July. For
